Les Contamines-Montjoie

Composed of different hamlets, Contamines-Montjoie's sector has kept its charm and authenticity, due to its ancient farmhouses, traditional chalets, small residences and mountain heritage. Located at an altitude of around 1200m, Contamines-Montjoie offers a skiing domain, which is not directly linked to the Evasion Mont-Blanc domain, but provides close to 120km of slopes, as well as a large cross-country skiing and biathlon area, allowing practice at all levels.

Two-thirds of the Contamines-Montjoie territory is classified as a Natural Reserve, which allows the practise of a multitude of sports and activities: paragliding, hiking, cycling, climbing and hiking departures to Miage, as well as a start of the Tour du Mont-Blanc. The Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge icefall climb is definitely something to experience in winter. Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge is known to be a pilgrimage site in the region, counting several churches scattered throughout the Valley.

On the real estate side, luxury properties and rarer than in surrounding areas, but the year-round open schools and stores and the cold and peaceful climate allow prices to remain equivalent to Saint-Gervais. it possible to maintain comparable prices, depending on exhibition and location. The cold Valley climate lets snow last longer than in Saint-Gervais, allowing for longer practise of winter sports in the winter season.
