Once again this year, BARNES Mont-Blanc took part in Octobre Rose, the month of mobilisation against breast cancer. A commitment that took shape on the ground, at the heart of our region.
Two charity events received our support.
- “Nager Octobre Rose” in Duingt, where participants dived into the waters of the lake for the cause.
- “Les Boucles du Cœur” in Veyrier-du-Lac, which brought walkers and runners together in the same spirit of generosity.
On this occasion, Patrice Ropers, manager of the BARNES Annecy agency, spoke to remind everyone how essential the commitment of companies and individuals alike is.
“When we are in good health, we often focus on a multitude of problems. People affected by the disease have only one left, and it is a big one. That is why we owe it to ourselves to take care of ourselves, and to support those who fight the disease every day.”
Nager Octobre Rose in Duingt
Organised by Les Lacustres de Duingt, an association devoted to winter bathing, the 3rd edition of Nager Octobre Rose took place on Saturday 10 October 2026, the date that opens the club's winter swimming season each year. Swimmers could choose between four offshore courses, 100 m, 300 m, 500 m and 1 km, the last two being offered for the first time. The programme also included a pink dip and introductions to cold-water swimming, led by the event's patron, Alain Simac, a swimmer born in Annecy and a multiple medallist in ice swimming. The donations collected go to the breast cancer screening committee of the Savoie departments. If you would like to join the swimmers next year, the event returns on the second Saturday of October, with online registration on HelloAsso.
Les Boucles du Cœur in Veyrier-du-Lac
The next day, Sunday 11 October 2026, Les Boucles du Cœur celebrated their 9th edition in Veyrier-du-Lac, with around a thousand participants expected. Born from a local mobilisation around childhood illnesses, the event has been dedicated to the fight against breast cancer since the end of the Covid period, driven by its president, Fany Delplancq. The programme featured a timed 10 km run, 5 km and 10 km walks and a 'Bonbon' run for the youngest, not forgetting the best pink outfit contest. Funds go to the Comité féminin des Savoie, Courir pour Elles and Les Belles Échappées, for prevention, research and adapted physical activity during and after treatment. The 2025 edition raised 14,500 euros for these causes. If you would like to run or walk alongside them, the next edition is expected in early October 2027.
A big thank you to the organisers, the volunteers and every participant for their energy and generosity. We are proud to have helped, in our own way, to bring this wonderful cause to life.
In October, and throughout the year, let us take care of ourselves and of those around us.
Our Annecy agency, which specialises in the sale of exceptional properties around Lake Annecy, and in particular in Duingt and Veyrier-du-Lac, where these two events take place every year, looks forward to seeing you next October for a new edition!
