During Has’Art’dez-vous, around a hundred amateur and professional artists will show their work in the shop windows of Aix-les-Bains. The painter Manu Cardoso has kindly agreed to exhibit a selection of works in our BARNES real estate agency in Aix-les-Bains.
Manu Cardoso, between matter and pigment
Born in 1967, Manu Cardoso lives and paints in Grésy-sur-Aix, right next to Aix-les-Bains. She started out in 1988 with a sign-painting course, then trained in art therapy from 2023 to 2025.
“Between matter and pigment, I let a presence emerge,” she writes on her Artmajeur page. Each canvas grows out of a moment of contemplation, turned towards nature, the elements and energy, rather than from a preconceived image. She works with a palette knife to stretch, scrape and carve the paint, and her painting moves between figuration and abstraction.
She has moved away from industrial paints towards mineral and plant-based materials (pure pigments, charcoal, plaster, waxes, inks). She paints in oil or acrylic on linen, sometimes highlighted with gold or silver leaf. Her paintings depict old lanes and squares, such as Ruelle provençale du Castellet or Place des Orfèvres, Mediterranean harbours and boats, from Marseille to Cassis, as well as portraits and monochromes.
From Aix-les-Bains to the Grand Palais
If you are a regular at the Casino Grand Cercle, you may already have seen her work, shown there in 2025 for Art et Sensorialité and Art au Féminin. Manu Cardoso also exhibited in Aix-les-Bains during Pink October in 2024 and 2025, and at the Prieuré du Bourget-du-Lac in 2024. Her paintings were shown in Venice at Arte Venezia in 2025, then in 2026 at the Art Capital fair at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Step inside the agency during Has’Art’dez-vous and you will find a street of ochre and white façades, in keeping with her old town scenes, as well as bouquets in red and golden tones.
We are delighted to welcome you to the agency at 81 rue du Casino, Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 6.30 pm, and on Saturday from 9.30 am to 12 noon.
Opening on Friday 9 October 2026 at 7 pm on Place Clemenceau, preceded by a guided walk from 6 pm.
